The Keeper

I love going to the tip. The scrap metal pile shifts and changes constantly; each week, I document these transformations by photographing it and walking around the pile to collect small objects that draw me in.

Through photography, assemblage and installation, I create works that evoke my experiences at the tip.

The Keeper is a large format photograph printed as a paneled work on 64 A4 sheets which are machine sewn together. It records one of my weekly site visits. It references consumption and reflects ideas of shared authorship between artist, site and matter.
